Exclusive: We talk Polar with Mads Mikkelsen and Jonas Akerland

You've seen Mads Mikkelsen be a badass before, in films like CASINO ROYALE, DOCTOR STRANGE and the TV series Hannibal, just to name a few, but it may be safe to say you've never seen him be this much of a badass. In POLAR, Mikkelsen plays Duncan, an aging assassin on the verge of retirement. When his sleazy boss decides he doesn't want to give Duncan his severance pay (you didn't know hitmen received retirement packages?), the hitman must avoid being taken out by a team of brutal killers. Along the way, he meets Camille (Vanessa Hudgens), a young woman who has plenty of secrets of her own.

I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Mikkelsen – who happens to be the nicest guy in the world – and POLAR director Jonas Åkerlund to talk about what drew them to the movie, Mikkelsen's status as executive producer on the project, working with Hudgens, if we're going to see more of Duncan in the future and more.

POLAR hits Netflix on January 25th!
