Rustling sheets and shuddering windows…in Imax? Must be October!

Word has dropped today that the 4th installment in the mega successful PARANORMAL ACTIVITY franchise will screen on digitally re-mastered Imax screens starting at midnight October, 18th. The large-format exhibition will run concurrent with its normally slated release.

Set for play at roughly 300 digital Imax domestic locations, minor tweaking to the films sound and image will be needed to properly adjust. To those of you who saw P.A. 2 in Imax know it’s the only other in the franchise to be shown on such a grand scale.

So what does that mean? If Imax was bypassed for P.A. 3, why bring it back for part 4? Is it a make or break deal either way? Better yet, does this news make you want to race out and cop Imax tickets for the flick or do you not care one way or the other?

Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman direct P.A. 4, Katie Featherston (below), Kathryn Newton and Matt Shively all appear.
