Update: The studio wants you to know this trailer was NOT intended to be a “new” trailer, rather it’s merely “extended” as the folks at Spike TV tacked on the five seconds of new Hatter footage you see at the beginning. Just wanted to clear that up.
In case you missed Spike TV’s Scream Awards last night (which I assume is all of you), here’s the “new” ALICE IN WONDERLAND trailer they debuted during the show. I use the term “new” loosely here, as there’s really only a slight bit of new footage featuring Johnny Depp as the Hatter, but that’s more than enough for some people I imagine.
I’m still split on how this will turn out. At the time, a CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY remake with Burton and Depp seemed like a great idea, but the final result was decidedly unmemorable. Hopefully that will not be the case this time around, but I don’t have as much faith in Burton as I used to.
