James Van Der Beek may have been hot-shit in the mid to late 90s, but now… surprisingly enough… not so much. After his role in THE RULES OF ATTRACTION, it looked like he was going for the stars. But apparently, he was just going for the small screen…

Not that there’s anything wrong with that–if I had the choose a career that was other than being a big, mainstream superstar, it’d be the star of straight to video horror flicks. Hey, someone has to do it–you might as well live it up and make a name for yourself!

Van Der Beek starred in last year’s surprisingly well-done THE PLAGUE, and now he’s back and better than ever in the straight to DVD release of EYE OF THE BEAST!

Monsters at the bottom of the sea sporting giant tenticles, killing sailors and sex-hungry teens left and right, with scientist Van Der Beek on board to save the day? You have here, what I’d call, the makings of one awesome ride to me!

We scored the first trailer for this beast below, and you’ll notice it has all the goods you look for in a monster movie–or at least enough to make for a worthy rental!

Have a blast with the trailer, and get ready for Van Der Beek and his

EYE OF THE BEAST on DVD shelves everywhere April 1st!
