Justice League

With the exception of WONDER WOMAN, Warner Bros.' DCEU hasn't received nearly as much love as their Marvel counterparts, but audiences still seem quite excited for JUSTICE LEAGUE, even if it's only to witness what could be the unfolding of a beautiful disaster. No matter how the film turns out, it will still hopefully be a thrill to watch Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Flash (Ezra Miller), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and Superman (Henry Cavill) team-up on the big-screen. The latest image from the upcoming Zack Snyder flick has arrived, which shows ol' Barry Allen striking a pose in his secret headquarters. Can you say easter eggs? After his exceedingly brief cameos in both BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE and SUICIDE SQUAD, the upcoming JUSTICE LEAGUE will represent our first proper look at the speedster, and Ezra Miller is hugely excited for the world to meet Barry Allen, even though he is disappointed that the film is missing one piece of Flash lore. While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Miller apologized in advance for the absence of Flash's ring, which, in the Silver Age comics, was a small spring-loaded ring which concealed his costume.

“Well, you know, look,” says Miller. “I can confirm, spoiler alert, his suit does not pop out of his ring [in the movie].” Miller, who speaks with fluency about the different eras of Flash lore, has clearly anticipated this question. “Things have to progress, you know? Original Barry Allen was clearly an incredibly, incredibly clever scientist. We acknowledge and respect that.” He adds, playfully, “We want to apologize to the fans who are mad about the ring thing.”

Ezra Miller added that, "I know the ring is the coolest thing about the DC universe" but that "it was a little hard for us to sell in this version of this universe right now. Bear with us! There’s gonna be other cool things." What other aspects of Flash mythology are you hoping will be introduced in future DCEU movies?

JUSTICE LEAGUE will hit theaters on November 17, 2017.
