With its massive opening weekend, it wasn’t a huge surprise that a sequel to IRON MAN was announced by Marvel yesterday. What is surprising, however, is that director Jon Favreau isn’t already locked up for a second strike at the super suited Stark.
“We’ve been speaking informally about it, and in concept we would all love to work together again,” Favs tells EW of what we all simply assumed. “There’s no formal arrangement yet, but in theory we would all love to see it happen…. There’s definitely a lot of ideas that we all have now. There’s definitely a level of enthusiasm from myself and the cast to tell more stories.”
Favreau also gives his thoughts on the AVENGERS movie (“I think it would be a very smart third film in the Iron Man series“) and talks about how the “risk” of Downey paid off huge. Check out the interview RIGHT HERE.
