It looks like THE FINAL DESTINATION may have a few tricks up it’s sleeve for it’s late August battle with HALLOWEEN 2. The first left hook it’s throwing would be the nifty 3-D gimmick it’s got going for it! What better way to spend a hot August night then watch things meant to kill a character on screen flying at you instead. Or go and watch homeless Mikey hack and slash. Win-Win. Looks like FINAL DESTINATION may be going for another lariat with it’s official rating: R!
There’s no real surprise here considering all of the FINAL DESTINATION flicks have scored the coveted rating thanks to their creative and particularly gorey death sequences… and now we’re getting even more! All good in my book. Here’s the official reasoning for the R rating from Box Office Mojo: Rated R for strong violent/gruesome accidents, language and a scene of sexuality. Oh watch out for that scene of sexuality! The key there is the ‘strong violent/gruesome accidents!’
I don’t know about the rest of you but it looks like I’ll be heading to the theater twice that weekend! THE FINAL DESTINATION comes from director David R. Ellis and stars Haley Webb, Krista Allen (below), Nick Zano, Shantel VanSanten, Mykelti Williamson, and Bobby Campo. Get ready for Death in 3-D on August 28th!
