Feast your eyes on the life-size Lego Thanos statue set to invade Comic-Con

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

No doubt one of the highlights of San Diego Comic-Con is LEGO's elaborate presence at the event. This year, in addition to bringing exclusive collectibles for build-a-brick enthusiasts to drool over, LEGO is debuting a life-size statue of the Marvel villain Thanos on the show floor. Standing roughly at eight-and-a-half feet tall and weighing in at 450 lbs, the Thanos model is comprised of 91,350 individual pieces. According to the LEGO Master Builders group, the project took a total of 418 hours to design and build.

You'll have an opportunity to check the model out for yourself when LEGO Thanos arrives triumphantly at the LEGO exhibit in the San Diego Convention Center, later this week. Other sets scheduled to arrive at this year's SDCC celebration include a 197-piece Aquaman set inspired by the 1960s cartoon, a Giant-Man and the Wasp set as well as a Millennium Falcon cockpit set from SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY. Other characters and franchises set to receive the LEGO treatment at SDCC are Black Lightning, Unikitty, and Sheriff Deadpool as part of the mini-fig collection.

Be sure to make time in your SDCC schedule to visit the variety of LEGO kiosks and displays around the Con floor. There's always something new and cool to check out, and if you're quick, you might even catch an exclusive set being passed out to the crowd. Have fun!
