Feature-length anime Halo Legends based on the game is on the way

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

I never really played HALO, because I sucked at it so bad. Anything involving hand-eye coordination was never really my thing. But I appreciated the artistry of the games, and some innovations (such as riding vehicles during multiplayer), and thought it was cool. I was even excited when Peter Jackson was trying to get a movie off the ground with a fresh-faced Neill Blomkamp directing.

However, that version was not meant to be. However, we now have feature-length anime adaptation of the game coming up called HALO LEGENDS. Here’s the official synopsis:

Based on the globally renowned best-selling Halo franchise, Halo Legends tells seven amazing stories in the sweeping Halo saga, following Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, Halo: Nightfall and Halo: The Fall of Reach. Starring Atsuko Tanaka (“Ghost in the Shell”), Josh Grelle (“Mass Effect: Paragon Lost”) and Greg Ayres (“Dragon Ball Z Kai”), Halo Legends delves deep into the rich Halo universe surrounding the Master Chief’s mysterious origins, the Spartan’s advanced combat capabilities and the tense rivalry between Spartans and Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (ODSTs). Created in collaboration with some of the world’s leading animators from Japan, Halo Legends draws you into the center of humankind’s ongoing battles with the Covenant, dynamically depicted in cutting-edge animation styles that deliver breathtaking visuals and gripping adventure.

Sounds like it could be either fun or a mess, either way it should be entertaining.

Meanwhile, HALO LEGENDS will hit VOD July 31st.
