What would you say if I told you that the guy who directed such films as THE TALE OF DESPEREAUX and FLUSHED AWAY will be directing a live-action romp that brings us a ‘Killer of Lost Children?’ Exactly. But alas that is the news coming in today from Variety. Let me specify a little…

Sam Fell is the director in question and he’ll be directing DEMONKEEPER for Fox 2000. DEMONKEEPER is a novel by Royce Buckingham about a Seattle teen who inherits responsibility for a house filled with demons. When the youth finally breaks free of his charges to go on a date, he returns to discover that kids have broken into the house, unleashing its most vicious demon, the Beast, Killer of Lost Children.

Now even though the movie is about teens… and demons… it’s actually directed towards a younger audience, much like the upcoming CIRQUE DU FREAK. So what exactly can we expect with DEMONKEEPER? I’ve got no idea. All we know right now is that Fell is directing with a script from Laeta Kalogridis. Here’s hoping this one turns out to be a fun twisted journey!
