Few new Echo stills

Back in 2006 we got word that Yam Laranas was remaking his own film SIGAW for American audiences, under the new English-friendly title THE ECHO. It’s 2009 and we still haven’t seen this sucker, but word on the street is the movie’s in the bag, it’s just waiting for distribution.

While we wait, we have a few images from the film to check out. As a recap, THE ECHO goes a little like this: An ex-con moves into an old apartment building, where he encounters a domestic problem involving a police officer, his wife, and their daughter. When he tries to intervene, however, a mysterious curse entraps him.

Sounds interesting enough, and the trailer below also leads me to believe this flick is gonna kick some ass. So what’s the flippin’ hold up? Release this sucker already!

The new pics feature the ex-con in question (played by Jesse Bradford) and the inside of said haunted apartment building. Again, this thing could end up being pretty cool, and as it’s a remake from the director of the original, I’m guessing it’s going to be true to the original story. I’ll never get why or how a director would want to make the same movie twice, but I suppose there are circumstances where it just makes sense.

Enjoy the new pics, check out the trailer below, and stick around for that release date of THE ECHO as we hear it!
