Firestarter: Ryan Kiera Armstrong cast as the titular firestarter!

So it looks like Blumhouse's upcoming re-adaptation of Stephen King's classic sci-fi horror-thriller Firestarter has found it's new firestarting little girl Charlie, to be portrayed by 11-year-old actress Ryan Kiera Armstrong! You can see an official still of her in character at the bottom of the article! The role was previously played by a young Drew Barrymore in the 1984 film.

And here's the official synopsis:

A young girl develops pyrokinetic abilities and is abducted by a secret government agency that wants to harness her powerful gift as a weapon.

Meanwhile, Firestarter – directed by Keith Thomas (The Vigil) and also starring Zac Efron and Michael Greyeyes – has no official release date as of yet, but we'll keep you updated!
