James Wan’s INSIDIOUS marks the director’s first feature since 2007s dual-output of DEATH SENTENCE and DEAD SILENCE, and more excited we couldn’t be. Upping the fervor is the first official clip from the film, which we’ve gone ahead and tacked up for your enjoyment below.

In the minute long clip labeled “What Is It,” watch the always fun to watch Lin Shaye, as she feverishly describes to a sketch artist what ghastly ghoul awaits their fate. Damn I love it when Lin Shaye gets to play serious role (she so often does comedy people might forget how well rounded she truly is).

Written by Leigh Whannell (SAW, DEAD SILENCE), INSIDIOUS centers on A family that looks to prevent evil spirits from trapping their comatose child in a realm called The Further.

Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne (below), Barbara Hershey, Lin Shaye, Josh Feldman, Angus Sampson, Ty Simpkins, Andrew Astor, J. LaRose, Ruben Pla and Philip Friedman all assume a role in the flick.

We’re still awaiting a release frame…
