The boys over at Dread Central scored the first ever one-sheet for the upcoming STD sequel to JOY RIDE, cleverly titled JOY RIDE 2: DEAD AHEAD!
Unveiled at this past weekend’s FEAR FEST 2 horror convention, the new teaser poster features Rusty Nail’s scary ass truck, and a promise of more Rusty shenanigans. But don’t take my word for it, click on the image above to see the full image for yourself!
Starring Nick Zano, Mark Gibbon, Nicki Aycox, Kyle Schmid, Laura Jordan,and Aisling Walsh, DEAD AHEAD goes a little like this: While driving across the country on their way to Las Vegas, two couples are forced to “borrow” a car from an apparently abandoned ranch house when their own vehicle breaks down in rural Utah. Little do they know that the car they took actually belonged to Rusty Nail, the cold, calculating killer who plays vicious and cruel games with his victims, often pursuing them in his ominous, black 18-wheeler truck. After one of their friends is kidnapped by the murderous trucker, the remaining travelers are forced into Rusty’s violent realm to play his sinister cat-and-mouse games in an attempt to rescue their friend and stop the killer before it is too late.
When you ‘borrow’ a car, it’s always best to know who you’re borrowing it from–if it’s from a raging lunatic like Rusty Nail, it’s probably not a good idea!
I flippin’ loved JOY RIDE, and (at the time) thought it was one of the most intense movies I’d ever had the pleasure to see in the theater. Even on DVD it’s enjoyable as hell, and not just because Leelee Sobieski is hot (which she totally is; see below). So a sequel, with a promise of more crazed truck driver fury? I’m so there!
