First look at Sacha Baron Cohen being ostentatiously American in The Dictator

JoBloJoBlo

A new image of incognito funnyman Sacha Baron Cohen, from the set of his latest film THE DICTATOR, has made its way online. While we know the film is “inspired by” Saddam Hussein’s book Zabibah and The King (and actually written by “Seinfeld” scribes Alec Berg, Jeff Schaffer, David Mandel, as well as Cohen himself), it’s still not fully clear whether or not the film is aiming to be a full-on narrative adaptation or a fusion of sorts featuring Cohen’s trademark improvisation.

Whichever it is, one thing for sure is that it all will be played for serious lulz, judging from Cohen’s gung-ho American get-up on the set of the film.

THE DICTATOR – directed by Larry Charles (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”, BORAT) and starring Cohen, Anna Faris, and Ben Kingsley – opens May 11, 2012.

Synopsis: “The film tells the heroic story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed. It is inspired by the best selling novel ‘Zabibah and The King’ by Saddam Hussein.”
