After four movies, you might think that it'd be difficult to come up with an excuse for people to return to an island filled with dinosaurs where things go terribly wrong more often than not, but JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM has found a way. According to Entertainment Weekly, the upcoming sequel will take place several years after the end of JURASSIC WORLD to find that dinosaurs have completely overrun the park, but when a volcano on Isla Nublar threatens the dinosaurs with a second extinction, it's up to Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) to save the day. Bryce Dallas Howard added that her character has "founded an organization, Dinosaur Protection Group, and they’re finding a way to get these dinosaurs off the island." It seems that the relationship between Owen and Claire has reached "It's complicated" status, but she will nonetheless "reach out to Owen Grady to let him know this is happening. When you see them at the beginning of this story, you get caught up as to what’s going on. But it’s not what you would necessarily expect." As for who newcomers Justice Smith and Daniella Pineda play in the sequel, it seems that their characters are involved with Claire's dinosaur group, but most of my excitement is reserved for the return of Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Ian Malcolm. "I had to overcome the impact of being in front of Ian Malcolm," director J.A. Bayona said. "After so many years, Jeff Goldblum was in front of a camera again talking about dinosaurs!"
