The controversial character of Quicksilver is making his way to the big screen in not one, but two Marvel films, albeit for two different studios. The first incarnation will come from Evan Peters (American Horror Story), who will play Pietro Maximoff aka Quicksilver, the mutant born with the gift of speed, in director Bryan Singer's X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST and today we have a tiny peek at his look for the upcoming "sprequel." It's a low-res peek, but more than enough to get a feel for the direction they're going.

Quick, take a look:

I'm sure some folks will be up in arms over this, but given the context it's just one scene we're seeing him in here and Pietro has always been a kind of flashy, rebellious type and the clothing seems to suggest some aspect of those traits. Note the goggles, jacket, silver hair, and running shoes, all of which suggest the Quicksilver name. It's still unclear whether or not we'll see him in some form of a costume, but it definitely hasn't been ruled out. As for the competition, which will come in the form of Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Joss Whedon's THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, it's still "any man's race" in terms of who pulls off the better version of the character. What's your bet?

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST hits theaters on May 23, 2014, while THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON debuts on May 1, 2015.
