The American Film Market has been in full effect this week, and among the many films being picked up is Australian surfing drama DRIFT, starring a shaggy-haired Sam Worthington and lots of gnarly waves.

Courtesy of Collider, we have today the first images from the film, a synopsis, and the promo poster being used at the AFM. Check ’em out and tell us what you think.

DRIFT – directed by duo Ben Nott and Morgan O’Neill – stars Worthington, Xavier Samuel, Myles Pollard, and Lesley-Ann Brandt.

Synopsis: Set in breathtaking locations and inspired by the true story of Australia’s legendary surf-wear moguls, DRIFT chronicles the rise of the world’s premiere action sport and the expansion of the laid back surf attitude as a global lifestyle. A story of passion and corruption, friendship and loyalty, deadly addictions and fractured relationships.
