We showed you some concept art last month, and now the first stills from Sombrero Films’ BEHIND THE WALLS have surfaced. All three pictures feature lovely lead actress Laetitia Casta exploring the creepy house. The film, known in its native tongue as DERRIERE LES MURS, is France’s first foray into 3D horror. Here is the synopsis:
Centre of France, 1922. Suzanne, a young novelist lacking inspiration decides to isolate herself in the countryside to write her new book. As Suzanne discovers a sealed-up room in the basement of her house, she starts writing oddly easily. Visions and nightmares soon strike her while the villagers grow worried as several little girls mysteriously disappear…
The film is written and directed by the duo of Julien Lacombe and Pascal Sid, marking their feature debut. In addition to Laetitia Casta, the cast includes Thierry Neuvic, Roger Dumas, Jacques Bonnaffé, Anne Benoît, Anne Loiret, and Emma Ninucci.
The picture will be distributed by Bac Films in French theaters this year. Roissy Films is handling international sales, so hopefully we’ll learn of a U.S. release in the near future.
