With the recent announcement of Platinum Dunes’ latest remake (check out the blasphemy HERE) I totally forgot that the Dunes team (Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form) were in the process of producing an original (yes, an original!) supernatural flick for writer/director David Goyer. The flick’s called UNBORN, and it just bleeped back on the radar with the announcement of five (yes five!) new cast members!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Meagan Good (pictured), Carla Gugino, Jane Alexander, Idris Elba, and Rhys Coiro have joined the great Gary Oldman and Odette Yustman in the tale of a girl haunted by the soul of a tormented boy killed in the Holocaust.
Breaking it all down, Good will play the girl’s BFF, Gugino will play the girl’s mom, Alexander will play the ghosts sister, Elba will play an exorcising priest, and Coiro will play a college professor. Whew! That’s some breakdown!
While I never saw THE INVISIBLE, I did see BLADE: TRINITY, and while it was the weakest of the trilogy, it was obvious that Goyer has talent as a director, so I’m excited to see what he’s gonna have instore with this one. Although, since it’s outside the realm of superheroes, maybe it won’t be as good… but hot-damn is Good smokin’!
Stick around for more on UNBORN as we hear it!
