Fox addresses Alien prequel rumors

So yesterday I wrote up a piece about all of the new rumors surrounding Ridley Scott’s ALIEN prequel. Here I am a day later to say that the majority of it was confirmed as bogus – which leaves the unaddressed portions as questionable at best.

20th Century Fox Senior Vice-President for Corporate Communication Chris Petrikin took to Twitter to address the rumors: “I don’t know where to begin to correct what is being written about a certain Ridley Scott project … No one ever confirmed with Fox.”

So where did he begin? Well, it has been long thought that the prequel would be two separate films. It turns out that is no longer the case. He states, It’s not two films… can you hear me now?”

Oh, and that title, PARADISE? Also not true. “It’s not called Paradise. Answers soon.” I sure hope we get some answers soon!

Well, there you have it. Another day, another story about the film. Although we didn’t really learn much, it’s nice to have some substantiated facts.

All that we do know is that Ridley Scott is currently developing a prequel to his 1979 classic. A 2012 release date is proposed, but at this point I’d be surprised if they made it. Keep your eyes here for the latest.
