Fox may bring back Prison Break in a new limited series

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

We're living in a revival wonderland folks; we're got Twin Peaks, Coach, Heroes, The X-Files, and Full House all returning to our screens and now we have one more show clawing its way up from the TV afterlife; TVLine has learned that Fox is developing a revival series of Prison Break, the prison-drama which starred Wentworth Miller as a man who deliberately gets locked up in order to break his innocent brother, played by Dominic Purcell, out of death row.

The revival would reunite Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell for a new Prison Break series which would be similar to last year’s 24: Live Another Day as it would feature a close-ended storyline and a limited number of episodes. TVLine's report states that the potential Prison Break revival is still in development so until something is officially announced, anything could happen. Signs seem to point to yes however, as earlier in the year Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell sat down with EOnline and mentioned that a Prison Break revival was a very real possibility:

We actually floated the idea to Fox very casually and they seemed very not casual about this interest, they seemed to think there was something there.

Miller added that they "haven't reached out to anyone [cast members] just yet. It's just baby steps at this point, early stages." Around the same time Fox TV chairman Gary Newman had said that they would bring the show back "in a heartbeat." Prison Break was definitely a fun show and one I very much enjoyed for what it was, but unless they come up with something very cool, I'm not sure how excited I feel about the possibility of it returning. In the meantime, you can see Miller and Purcell together on The CW's Legends of Tomorrow, which will be premiering sometime in 2016.

Sound off folks, is a Prison Break revival of any interest to you?
