Fangoria caught wind of news today that FOX has announced theatrical and DVD release info for Robby Henson’s THE VISITATION.

Following HANGMAN’S CURSE (which was coincidently turned into a film prior), THE VISITATION is based on a novel by popular Christian-lit author Frank Peretti. The film stars Eddie Furlong (TERMINATOR 2, THE CROW: WICKED PRAYER) as a mysterious visitor who begins performing miracles in a small town. Some see him as a messiah, while others become suspicious of the strange events going on in his revival tent, and an ex-minister (Martin Donovan) eventually has to overcome his own inner demons and expose the stranger’s dark secrets.

THE VISITATION will receive theatrical release in January, with a minimum of 200 screens planned in 20 U.S. cities. It will then move to store shelves February 28th, with a retail price of $26.98. No extras have been announced yet, though it’s probably a given that whatever extras FOX whips up will be pretty limited. CYou can check out the onesheet for the film below.
