Frank Grillo is set to headline the new horror-thriller, Merciless. The genre-bending endeavor is being helmed by Liam O’Donnell, who is best known for directing the Skyline sci-fi film franchise.
Grillo will be reuniting with O’Donnell on Merciless, having already worked with the director after being featured in the second entry of the Skyline franchise, Beyond Skyline. Per Deadline, in Merciless, a top government interrogator’s wife is possessed by an evil spirit, and he seeks vengeance on those who were closest to the entity in its previous life in order to drive it out of his wife’s body. However, he will soon learn that everything is not what it seems.
Merciless was penned by Frank Hannah with a story by Christopher Tuffin. The producing team on the project includes Renee Tab, Pierre Morel, Tuffin, and Andy Schefter. Filming is set to commence on location in Alabama this summer and Sentient Pictures International just recently shopped the project at the Cannes Film Festival in France.
