Yep, it’s official: FREAK OUT is coming to DVD courtesy of the wonderful folks at Anchor Bay Entertainment. The film that has gotten praise at every convention it’s been screened, including Montreal’s FanTasia Festival, Manchester’s Festival Of Fantastic Films and The Rhode Island International Horror Film Festival where the movie snagged an award, is finally coming home, according to a news release on the official site.
The film comes to DVD January 2006 on both sides of the pond. No extras have been announced as of yet, although Anchor Bay says that the disc will sport a remastered version of the film, so that’s a good start.
In FREAK OUT, two best friends, Merv Doody (James Heathcote) and Onkey (Dan Palmer) take an escaped mental patient under their wing and attempt to teach him how to become a real serial killer. Our very own Arrow In The Head (John Fallon) is in the flick as well, so it’s a no brainer to pick it up.
