Freddy vs. Jason: Iconic horror duo parody Extreme’s “More Than Words”

The Merkins are back, ladies and gentlemen! This time out, the band who loves to unleash horror-themed parodies of classic hits from the 1980s are going to the extreme. You've seen them throw down in  2003's Freddy vs. Jason, but now you can see two of horror's most legendary slashers, Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees, make sweet music together.

In their latest video, “Freddy Krueger” and “Jason Voorhees” belt out "More Than Burns"! This undeniably catchy tune is, of course, a parody of Extreme’s 1990 hit “More Than Words". Not only is the song expertly arranged, but The Merkins are getting even better with their versions of both Freddy and Jason, who look great in today's black and white video. I also dig the addition of Pamela Voorhees, who in addition to playing the drums is at the ready with a lighter to set the mood.

You've got to hand it to The Merkins. Not only are they funny, but they're also incredibly talented. More often than not, parody artists are better left to wander the ether of YouTube and Spotify than being given a spot on your latest playlist, but The Merkins are legit. The vocal range on this track in particular is impressive, and dare I say that the group really knows how to set the mood for their videos. More of this, please!
