Last Updated on August 2, 2021

It's time for a new episode of the Playing with Fear video series, and in this one we're taking a look at one of the craziest movie franchise-inspired video games ever made, the 1989 NES game Friday the 13th. Many of us have played it, few of us ever beat it, and even less of us understood why the game's developers decided to fill a Friday the 13th game with zombies and killer wolves and crows. To learn all about the adventures of a purple and blue Jason Voorhees, check out the video embedded above!

The Playing with Fear series digs into

the horror video games that have influenced the genre, whether that be through their stellar gameplay, characters, story, or a combination of elements. Join our host, Andrew Hatfield, as he dives into the history of how this franchise came to be, and all the games it inspired in the process.

Playing with Fear is Written and Narrated by Andrew Hatfield, Edited by Tyler Nichols, Produced by John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
