Is this thing really being called 5NAL DESTINATION? It is, isn’t it? Now that’s just bad man… How can they expect anybody to take this thing even remotely serious with a title like 5NAL DESTINATION? Now simply because it makes me feel stupid typing that I’ll be calling this one FINAL DESTINATION 5 from here on out… I’m sure you guys won’t mind.
Now just last week we learned that Miles Fisher (below video) was the first name attached to the upcoming FINAL DESTIATION sequel. Alright, that’s all fine and dandy. So who else will be joining Fisher on his ride to Hell and back? Well according to About.com it seems FRIDAY THE 13TH star Arlen Escarpeta (above) has signed on to star in the film. About.com even had a chance to chat with the young actor recently. Check it:
“I think what they’re going to do really, really well this time around, they’re going to go back – the story, the plot, a lot of stuff is really going to matter. I think the last movie it was just death. It was death, death, death, which is fine because that’s what people want to see. But this time we’re going to give them a little bit of everything – good story, great director – it’s going to be good.”
Interesting. I don’t know where the rest of you guys stand but I’ve always been at the very least entertained by the FINAL DESTINATION flicks so I’m up for giving another go-around a chance. All we know about FINAL DESTINATION 5 plotwise is that the opening scene will involve some sort of accident with a suspension bridge. Apparently it’s also been announced that one of the kills will involve laser eye surgery, so take that for what it’s worth.
FINAL DESTINATION 5 is coming at us from director Steven Quale with a script by Eric Heisserer. This shite is set to hit theaters on August 26, 2011 so be on the lookout for more updates soon!
