We’ve been keeping a pretty close eye on JJ Abrams upcoming supernatural TV series FRINGE, mostly because Abrams knows how to rock audiences with sheer entertainment, and because it’s been since THE X-FILES since we’ve had a good supernatural show on TV.
USA Today scored an interesting scoop today, as apparently DC Comics is setting up shop to produce and release a prequel comic of FRINGE–in fact, they’re out looking for writers and artists for it now!
A show that’s already spawning the prequel treatment has to be producing some serious good buzz–of course, with Abrams on board, you could almost guarantee it a winner.
FRINGE’s prequel comic is set to hit book stores August 27th, just in time for the show’s September 9th two-hour premiere on Fox. As a reminder, FRINGE (the TV show, not the prequel comic) is about an unlikely trio who uncover a deadly mystery involving a series of unbelievable events and realize they may be a part of a larger, more disturbing pattern that blurs the line between science fiction and technology.
Hell yeah. One could only assume comic will be just as awesome.
