Just a couple days ago the internet was a buzz with the release of the A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET trailer. Well at least the horror parts of the internet… That trailer seemed to have come out of nowhere and b*tchslapped the hell out of us! I for one was blown away by it.
Sure Freddy’s voice was lame… but that trailer was awesome. I could honestly say I wasn’t expecting that. For a guy who was completely against this remake I’m surprised I’m actually digging everything coming from it thus far. Well Brad Fuller, being the hands-on producer he is, recently updated Platinum Dunes’ official blog with an entry talking about the NOES teaser feedback.
Fuller talks about what the original plans were for the trailer, why it took so long to come out, why NOES is so important to himself and Andrew Form, and what’s the deal with Freddy’s face/voice!
Is that Freddy’s final voice?
No, Jackie [Earle Haley] spent so much time on the voice, researching what people who’ve has their vocal cords burned sound like. He is still working on it and I suspect that we will be refining it, until the last moment.

Fuller also teases a FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 2 update at the end of his entry… And that’s exactly what I have for you all today! This update however comes straight from Warner Brothers and not Platinum Dunes. It seems Warner Bros. have a lot of faith in Platinum Dunes following the positive buzz behind the ELM STREET trailer… they’ve already announced a release date for FRIDAY 2!
That date is August 13, 2010 and yes, that is a Friday. Yet another Friday the 13th release. Awesome. Also just a reminder… FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 2 would indeed by the 13th installment to the franchise. Natch. Keep it here for anything and everything Freddy or Jason related as we hear it!
