A director remaking one of his own movies? You don’t hear about that too often. But alas, that is exactly what Michael Haneke is doing. FUNNY GAMES was a controversial film released in 1997 about a couple of crazy dudes who hold a family hostage in their own cabin and force them to complete a series of disturbing games.

The remake inherited the same title and the same plot. It’s going to star Naomi Watts, Tim Roth, Michael Pitt, and Brady Corbet. Eric dropped some stills from the film a while back, and now we’re pleased to let you know that the trailer for FUNNY GAMES has made it’s way online over at MSN.

Now after watching that trailer, I’m officially stoked. Looks like it’s going along the lines of A CLOCKWORK ORANGE. In my opinion, the casting in this one looks perfect. It looks like Watts, Roth, and especially Pitt are going to kick some major ass. FUNNY GAMES is scheduled for limited release on February 15, 2008. And everyone remember… “You shouldn’t forget the importance of entertainment.”
