The Old Man: FX sets premiere date for Jeff Bridges’ return to acting following his cancer diagnosis

Jeff Bridges is back and feeling better than ever following his cancer diagnosis. Bridges was diagnosed with Lymphoma in 2020 but, after nearly a year, the actor’s cancer is in remission and he’s set to return in front of the camera on the FX series, The Old Man. The network has now released a premiere date of the series as well as some first-look photos.

The Old Man will be Bridges’ first TV series in nearly 50 years. The show is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Thoms Perry and it follows CIA operative Dan Chase (Bridges), a man forced to reconcile his past after an assassin makes it his mission to take him out. In addition to Bridges, the series also stars John Lithgow, Alia Shawkat, E.J. Bonilla, Gbenga Akinnagbe, and Amy Brenneman. Entertainment Weekly has released some first-look photos from the series and they can be viewed below!

The Old Man, created by Robert Levine and Jonathan E. Steinberg, with an executive producer credit from Spider-Man: No Way Home’s Jon Watts, is slated to debut the first two of its seven episodes on June 16, 2022, on FX. It will be followed by a release on Hulu a day later and it will soon be available on Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ under the Star banner in all other territories.
