Gal Gadot will emerge from Connie Nielsen’s womb in Wonder Woman

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Connie Nielsen will serve as Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons, in Warner Bros. upcoming WONDER WOMAN film centering on the DC Comics superheroine.

There isn't much belief that we'll actually get a scene in Patty Jenkins' movie where Gal Gadot is borne from another actress' vagina, but, with Wonder Woman's mother now cast, you'll get the idea as to the intended family dynamic without all the detailed visuals.

Nielsen might be best remembered for her role in GLADIATOR as a Roman queen (anyone else picking up the royalty typecasting she must face), but she also has appearances on Fox's THE FOLLOWING and THE GOOD WIFE to her credit.

Will Hippolyta have a sizable role in the DC Cinematic Universe? Doubtful, but she'll at least be in it.

The more you know…

WONDER WOMAN opens in theaters on June 23, 2017.
