Gareth Edwards’ sci-fi flick MONSTERS is one project we’ve been following for a while now with raised eyebrows. Back when I first heard about this thing it peaked my interest and let’s just say it’s done nothing but feed into that. The last update we got on the flick came last month in the form of a juicy behind the scenes video and here we are yet again with more MONSTERS news for you!
Today’s update is actually something you can get excited about too! It seems MONSTERS has finally scored a release date! So when will we be seeing the newest alien invasion stomp down on our asses? October 29th! Nice! Just in time for Halloween! Of course this puts MONSTERS up against a host of other genre flicks including SAW VII 3D and PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2… so only time will tell if it’s good enough to keep up. Personally I’d much rather check out MONSTER than those other two flicks…. but that’s just me.
Six years ago NASA discovered the possibility of alien life within our solar system. A probe was launched to collect samples, but crashed upon re-entry over Central America. Soon after new life forms began to appear there and half of Mexico was quarantined as an “Infected Zone.”
Today, the American and Mexican military still struggle to contain “the creatures”… The story begins when a US journalist agrees to escort a shaken American tourist through the infected zone in Mexico to the safety of the US border.
MONSTERS comes from Gareth Edwards and stars Whitney Able (below) and Scoot McNairy. Now that a release date has been announced hopefully we hear more from the project soon! As soon as we hear something we’ll be sure to pass it along to all of you!
