More indie stuff? Why not?

We recieved a little link to a slick trailer for director Kevin Lewis’ G.E.A.R., which is in the process of raising money to shoot the full feature this fall. You wouldn’t know the dude was in need of money with these slick visuals. It really looks like something that came out of Hollywood, yet still has that indie flavor to it.

The story for the film concerns the new drug G.E.A.R. (Genetically Engineered Algorithmic Regenerative), which allegedly induces superhuman powers. DEA Special Agent Thomas Kelly is summoned to investigate the drug when it hits the streets. As instructed by his long-time boss and friend Hal, Thomas goes undercover to infiltrate the drug ring. At least this is what Thomas remembers.

Thomas is now being held captive and is currently being interrogated by Hal. Who really is Thomas Kelly? Is he truly a DEA Agent or is he a dangerous criminal? In a wicked cat-and-mouse game, Thomas must remember what went down in order to save his own life, but his memories may be deceiving him. What started out as a simple drug bust, soon turns into something far more frightening, as the line between reality and imagination blurs into a chilling nightmare.

Now with a premise like that, you’d think that this film and CRANK would be bosom buddies. To check out the trailer for yourself, head here. You can also check out Lewis’ other films he’s done in the past, which also feature those same production values but have the indie background to them. Hopefully we’ll be hearing from this dude in the future.
