Alright so you probably don’t recognize director Jim Isaac by name, but what if I was to tell you he’s the man that directed JASON X? Now we’re ringing some bells, right?
Well the talented genre director has recently fallen on some hard times and is ferociously battling a rare blood cancer, which involves some very intensive treatment. Now we recently got word that receiving fan mail really means a lot to Mr. Isaac so I’ve come here today to inform you all of this situation, hoping you’ll take some time from your day and write Jim Isaac and let him know how you feel about his work.
Isaac’s other directing credits include PIG HUNT, THE HORROR SHOW, SKINWALKERS and the ‘Viki Williamson Night’ segment of the 1995 TV series “Joe Bob’s Drive-In Theater.” He’s also worked special effects on HOUSE II: THE SECOND STORY and EXISTENZ. And here’s the kicker: Isaac dabbled with creature effects in the 80s on such classics as GREMLINS, THE FLY and STAR WARS EPISODE VI: RETURN OF THE JEDI. Pretty badass right? I’m sure it meant a lot to Isaac working on EXISTENZ and THE FLY as well, considering he places David Cronenberg as his mentor and idle.
Personaly I’m a huge fan of EXISTENZ, HUGE. So to hear Isaac worked on the film has me pleasantly surprised. And JASON X… What started as a laughing point of the franchise has grown to a potential cult classic. Personally the more I watched JASON X, the more I enjoyed it. And I’m sure I’m not the only one.
So if you’ve enjoyed any of Isaac’s work at any point in your life do yourself a favor and write the man to let him know. If you can help Jim Isaac feel better if only for a little while, wouldn’t it be worth it? He can be reached at the following:

And if you’re the praying type, keep Mr. Isaac in your prayers and let’s all hope he can battle through this and get better.
