I am such a friggin’ sucker for the “masked killer” movie. I can’t help it. Probably because I was born right at the beginning of the Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees eras. I guess I’m saying that for some reason, a psycho in a facial disguise kind of takes me back to my childhood… that’s some f*cked up shite. But anyways, I just came across another “slash in a mask” flick that looks pretty appealing. It’s called CORNERED! and stars ol’ Frank the Bunny (above) himself, James Duval. Take a stab at the basic, yet unique, plot:
A group of people trapped in their own convenience store are stalked by a MASKED serial killer. During their down time they discuss how they themselves would dispatch the killer, only for them to be killed by the madman in the same ways.
You’ve got to admit, that synopsis shows promise. CORNERED! was directed by horror newbie, Steve Maze and in addition to Duval stars Peter Story, Elizabeth Nicole (below), Eduardo Antonio Garcia, and Officer Mahony himself, Steve Guttenberg. Just between us, if Mr. Guttenberg is the slasher, then we have no excuse to pass on this one. The flick is currently in post-production and is set for a release in LA this August.
