Remember Troll dolls? They're back, in film form. DreamWorks Animation announced a few years ago that they wanted in the TOY STORY playing field (franchise money) and threatened to bring Toll dolls to the big screen. Fast forward to now, when these ugly dolls are even more irrelevant, and you got yourself an upcoming movie.
Mike Mitchell (SHREK FOREVER AFTER) is set to direct the adorable Anna Kendrick in the musical titled TROLLS. Kendrick will lead the voice cast as a "relentlessly upbeat" princess named Poppy who will obviously get to sing. If you have seen PITCH PERFECT, you know Anna have proven herself to be a great actresses with a nice singing voice as well so there's something to take away from this news.
Mitchell also previously directed ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: CHIPWRECKED. It's unclear if they are going to go the watchable route with SHREK style quality or the way of the Chipmunks…those insufferable Chipmunks.
Kendrick is currently shooting the musical sequel PITCH PERFECT 2, TROLLS will be released November 4, 2016.
