Some great news out of the Ghost House Underground camp today! It looks like they have just picked up two horror flicks that I am greatly looking forward to for DVD distribution. One is the highly entertaining-looking DANCE OF THE DEAD, which Mr. Ammon last reported on here. I’m sure that by now you can pretty much guess what it’s about. My feelings about it are this: It’s a pretty basic premise whose success hinges greatly on the execution. And from the buzz thus far, it looks to me that director Gregg Bishop is on the path to success. The DANCE stars Jared Kusnitz (OTIS) and Greyson Chadwick.
The other flick acquired by G.H.U. is a sequel to one of the coolest highway shockers I’ve seen in a while, REEKER (see our glowing review here.)! This next ride is called NO MAN’S LAND: RISE OF THE REEKER (see poster above). I’m guessing that it’s at least part prequel. Here’s the quick synopsis: A sheriff and his son chase a gang of criminals into the domain of the titular creature, and must team up to stay alive. David Payne, writer and director of the original, is back behind the steering wheel this time around and I can’t wait! It stars Michael Muhney, Desmond Askew, Mircea Monroe (below) and Robert Pine.
No word yet on when DANCE or RISE OF REEKER will be released. Hopefully we’ll know more soon and I’ll be sure to keep you updated.
