Ghostbusters 3 starting production in May 2011? Can it be true?!

I can honestly say I didn’t see this coming. Actually I still don’t believe it, as I’m sure most of you won’t either. But apparently GHOSTBUSTERS 3 is getting ready to roll in a matter of months! Take a second and let that sink in…

You guys remember a couple weeks ago, when I told you how Sony had finally Oked a script for GHOSTBUSTERS 3? Well it seems that might actually be the case because over at Production Weekly’s Twitter account the following ‘tweet’ has been posted:

“Hearing that @SonyPictures is planning to put Ivan Reitman’s “Ghostbusters 3” into production in May 2011. #whoyagonnacall”

Interesting. Well I don’t believe it, and I doubt you guys do either. I’m not going to be convinced GHOSTBUSTERS 3 is actually happening until I see some set photos of those jumpsuits! If all does go according to plan Ivan Reitman will be directing a script from Gene Stupnitski and Lee Eisenberg with the film starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and Rick Moranis. Apparently the plot will follow Murray & Weaver’s son ‘Oscar’ as he inherits the Ghostbusting gig.

Now as always we’ll be on the lookout for any other GHOSTBUSTERS news but this is one we might want to stew on for a little while… Could it actually be happening?? Time will tell folks! Be sure to keep it here for anything and everything GHOSTBUSTERS as it comes our way!
