Ghostbusters: Afterlife: cereal based on the film now on sale

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

General Mills has just released a new officially-licensed Ghostbusters: Afterlife cereal, based on the eponymous sci-fi horror-comedy sequel. It's being described as "fruity flavored sweetened corn puffs with ghost and ectoplasm marshmallows", with the aforementioned marshmellows shaped to look like the little Stay Puff Marshmellow men seen in the most recent trailer (that you can watch at the top of the article).

Now this wouldn't be the first time there have been food-related products based on the film (Ecto-Cooler anyone?) But this also wouldn't even be the first cereal based on the film! Unfortunately, I wasn't really old enough to buy the original Ghostbusters cereal, but may give these a try sometime.

Meanwhile, Ghostbuster: Afterlife – haunting theaters November 11th – will be directly tied to the original films' continuity, and will be directed by Jason Reitman, son of original director Ivan Reitman. It stars Finn Wolfhard, Paul Rudd, and all the original (surviving) Ghostbusters cast.

Here's the official synopsis:

When a single mother and her two children move to a new town, they soon discover that they have a connection to the original Ghostbusters and their grandfather's secret legacy.

So what do you guys think? Looking forward to the film? If so, gonna buy the cereal? Either way, sound off below!
