Who’s ready for a reunion with two of the stars from Rian Johnson’s surprise hit mystery film Knives Out? It turns out that Ana de Armas is joining Chris Evans for Dexter Fletcher’s Ghosted. She is replacing Scarlett Johansson, who has exited the project due to scheduling conflicts. In addition to her starring role, de Armas will also executive produce, with Evans, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, and Jules Daly producing.

Directed by Fletcher (Rocketman, Bohemian Rhapsody) and based on a script written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (who also produce), Ghosted has been described by Deadline as a high concept romantic action-adventure film.

When it was revealed that Johansson would have to bow out of the project, Ellison immediately brought de Armas’s name to the table. As you’re likely to know, de Armas is one of the hottest actresses in Hollywood right now after starring in Knives Out and No Time to Die. She’s also set to star alongside Ben Affleck in the upcoming thriller Deep Water. Directed by Adrian Lyne (Jacob’s Ladder, Fatal Attraction), Deep Water revolves around a well-to-do husband who allows his wife to have affairs to avoid a divorce, only the man becomes a prime suspect when her lovers start to disappear.

In addition to starring alongside Evans and Ryan Gosling in the Joe and Anthony Russo-directed The Gray Man, de Armas is also in talks to play the lead in the John Wick spinoff Ballerina.

What do you think about de Armas replacing Johansson in Dexter Fletcher’s Ghosted? Is that a more enticing reunion than Knives Out co-star Evans? What do you think Ghosted will be about?
