G.I. Joe director Jon Chu could helm Now You See Me 2

It was just last week that I finally got around to watching NOW YOU SEE ME; the movie that went on to surprise many with its box office take ($351 million worldwide) is getting the sequel treatment and the wheels are now in motion. Reports suggest that G.I. JOE: RETALIATION‘s Jon Chu is now the frontrunner to direct NOW YOU SEE ME 2 after the first film's director, Louis Leterrier, decided not to return for the sequel. Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Mark Ruffalo are all expected to reprise their roles.

Don't feel too bad for Leterrier though, he's currently working on the Sacha Baron Cohen comedy GRIMSBY that is set to be released next year. Chu has just wrapped up JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS, and is attached to direct G.I. JOE 3. I suspect Chu can pull out the whimsical and flamboyant NOW YOU SEE ME sequel considering his resume includes STEP UP 2 and 3D, and the Justin Bieber documentary NEVER SAY NEVER.

So as I mentioned, I watched NOW YOU SEE ME last week and my feelings on the movie and its upcoming sequel are both bet with a resounding shrug. Did you guys enjoy the flick? Will you show up for the sequel?

Here's a trick for you, I'm going to make a hot Isla Fisher appear!
