Last month Ammon told you all that hottie Leighton Meester had signed on to star in Screen Gems’ THE ROOMMATE. Well today we’ve got another piece of casting news for THE ROOMMATE coming in from Variety.
It seems resident bad boy-esque Cam Gigandet has signed on to star as Meester’s character’s boyfriend. You may recognize Gigandet (right) from a number of PG-13 flicks like THE UNBORN, NEVER BACK DOWN, and TWILIGHT. Hmm I wonder which route THE ROOMMATE will be going?
The flick follows Sara, played by Meester. Sara is a college student who’s randomly assigned to a freshman dorm with a stranger named Rebecca. Things turn deadly when Rebecca becomes obsessed and begins targeting people in Sara’s life. Well nothing at all original about that but it could be worse. At least Meester (below) is fun to look at.
Sonny Mallhi penned the script with Christian E. Christiansen directing. Screen Gems are looking at a May start date so keep it here for any other casting news as we hear it.
