Egan also wrote the screenplay for Glasshouse with Emma Lungiswa De Wet. The story they crafted together has the following synopsis:

Confined to their glasshouse, a family survives The Shred, a toxin that erases memory. Until the sisters are seduced by a Stranger who shatters their peace and stirs a past best left buried.

The film stars Jessica Alexander (A Banquet), Anja Taljaard (Double Echo), newcomer Kitty Harris, Hilton Pelser (The Kissing Booth), Adrienne Pearce (Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell), and Brent Vermeulen (The Harvesters).

Glasshouse marks the feature directorial debut of Egan, who has previously directed multiple short films and music videos. She has also worked as an actress (she had a role in Fried Barry, among other things), and even worked in the stunt department on projects like Death Race: Inferno and Mad Max: Fury Road. Her writing credits include multiple episodes of the crime drama series Trackers and the animated series Munki and Trunk. Emma Lungiswa De Wet has also written episodes of Munki and Trunk, and the animated series Team Jay. She has acting credits as well, working on Munki and Trunk, Jungle Beat, and Jungle Beat: The Movie.

Glasshouse is a South African production. Greig Buckle produced the film, with Jan du Plessis, Candice Fangueiro, Nkateko Mabaso, Nat Mundel, Yolisa Phahle, Allan Sperling, and Kaye Ann Williams serving as executive producers. De Wet was associate producer, and Shaamila Fataar the supervising producer.
