For the past few weeks news on director Michael Dougherty's GODZILLA 2 or whatever it is being called, has been quite as the news seems to have shifted towards Adam Wingard's GODZILLA VS KONG flick.

But all the same, Dougherty and crew have been hard at work on the new GODZILLA movie and today the director took to Twitter to let us all know that filming has wrapped! You can check his tweet below.

GODZILLA 2 synopsis via press release:

The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

GODZILLA 2 is directed by Michael Dougherty from a script by Dougherty and Zach Shields and stars Kyle Chandler, Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga, Charles Dance, Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins, Bradley Whitford, Thomas Middleditch, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Aisha Hinds and Zhang Ziyi.

GODZILLA 2 is slated for release on March 22, 2019.
