Sony has announced that they'll be offering a treat to R.L. Stine fans in 2018, as the studio will be moving the release of GOOSEBUMPS 2 starring Jack Black closer to Halloween! The move will find the family-friendly frightfest now making its debut on October 12, 2018, as opposed to its previously announced date of September 21st. In accordance with its new release slate, GOOSEBUMPS 2 will be trick 'r treating alongside Lionsgate's HELLFEST and Universal's man-on-the-moon biopic FIRST MAN at the box office.

In addition to switching things up for GOOSEBUMPS 2, Sony will also reposition Studio 8 and director Albert Hughes' Ice Age action thriller ALPHA from March 2nd to September 14th. As a result of the film being pushed, ALPHA will face off against MGM's FIGHTING WITH MY FAMILY and 20th Century Fox's THE DARKEST MINDS. Additionally, ALPHA will no longer have to compete with RED SPARROW, the much-anticipated special agent thriller starring Jennifer Lawrence. Heh, that was probably a smart move. That movie is likely to make some serious bank.

And there you have it, folks. Be sure to mark your calendars accordingly, and don't forget to wear your costume to the theater when you go to check out GOOSEBUMPS 2. What? It doesn't matter if it's not Halloween yet, let that freak flag fly, baby!
