There’s a lot of movies out there that have the same cookie cutter plot. ‘House is haunted and posseses somebody.’ We haven’t seen that yet. Or ‘Oh no, somebody is running around killing people and we don’t know who.’ Right. I just explained two entire sub-genres and about three million movies. Don’t get me wrong… we sometimes love our cookie cutter plots… but sometimes a flick comes our way that’s about something that makes our ears perk up in interest.
I think it’s safe to say ‘crab fishing’ falls into that category. Mind you not just an adventure at sea or fishing for that matter… but crab fishing. You’ve got my attention! According to Variety there’s a new thriller heading our way that deals with the fine men and women of the crab fishing industry. It’s called DEAD LOSS and goes a little something like this: Set in the dangerous world of crab fishing, DEAD LOSS explores what happens when a crew rescues a castaway adrift in a life raft with mysterious cargo.
So I’m definitely digging the title and I’m intrigued to see what we’re dealing with in this one. Chris Gorak has already been tapped to direct by Palmer West and Jonah Smith of Thousand Words. Josh Baizer and Marshall Johnson worked on the script while Jesse Johnston joins West and Smith in producing. That’s all we’ve got on DEAD LOSS for now but be sure to keep it here for updates as we hear them!
Crabs are at the beach… so are these hotties!
