Due November 11th is Lars Von Trier’s dreary end-of-days scenario in MELANCHOLIA, a flick that boasts an A-list roster of international players – headlined by a Cannes’ winning performance by Kirsten Dunst. As summer sadly wanes, a new gorgeous yet surreal trailer for the film has been released. Give her a peek underneath!
Although this movie, like the trailer itself, will no doubt be an artsy acquired taste, I will say I’m glad to see Dunst catch all the plaudits this year for her work in the film. I’ve been a longtime fan, tempered by the high-profile SPIDERMAN gig and her overexposure thereafter. Maybe this role will get her back into Oscar-nominated form!
Also featuring Charlotte Gainsbourg, Kiefer Sutherland, John Hurt, Charlotte Rampling, Stellan Skarsgård, Alexander Skarsgård, Brady Corbet, Jesper Christensen and Udo Kier – MELANCHOLIA looms as:
Justine and Michael are celebrating their marriage at a sumptuous party in the home of her sister and brother-in-law. Meanwhile, the planet, Melancholia, is heading towards Earth… MELANCHOLIA is a psychological disaster movie from director Lars von Trier.
Enjoy the new trailer.
