One upcoming indie horror that sure has been getting a lot of buzz lately is writer/director Paul Solet’s GRACE. Ever since I first heard of this flick way back in October, I had a feeling that it was destined for horribly great things! Case in point: this past Friday, something incredible occurred as GRACE had its Sundance premier in Park City, Utah. The news was reported by Mr. Adam Green (HATCHET), who happens to be one of the flick’s producers. Here’s precisely what he said:
“Two faints. One outside and one in the lobby. Egyptian [theater] owner confirmed that in 10 years it’s the first time it’s happened. Amazing screening.”
That’s right! Apparently, two patrons attending GRACE’s screening were either so moved by the film or so shockingly appalled, that they both dropped like flies! Of course, they’re both still alive, and hopefully doing well… but what an endorsement! It takes me back to all the old horror-movie gimmicks of yesteryears. However, to actually cause someone to faint nowadays can be considered quite an accomplishment. I’m looking forward to GRACE now even more! Check out it’s dark, faint-inducing plot:
After losing her unborn child, Madeline Matheson insists on carrying the baby to term. Following the delivery, the child miraculously returns to life with an appetite for human blood. Madeline is faced with a mother’s ultimate decision.
“Madeline” is played by the lovely Jordan Ladd (below). The rest of the cast includes Gabrielle Rose, Samantha Ferris, Malcolm Stewat, Stephen Park, and Serge Houde. I’m sure with GRACE’s current attention, a release date will be arriving sooner rather than later.
